This trick is GREAT! We bought it based on the performance/explanation in Scott Alexander’s Penguin Lecture. We had a contract for 6 weeks on a cruise ship. Hearing Scott tell the story about the Cruise Director thanking him for updating the Banana Trick, we thought we would give it a shot. We had it in reserve in case we needed something different in our show. It packs small, so we thought, why not? Once out at sea, we realized we needed to make some adjustments, we asked the comedian on the ship his thoughts about the routine. As soon as he saw what it was, he gave it a hearty “YES!” He had seen Puck perform with it and said it was fantastic. So, we worked on getting it ready and popped it into our show. The response was immediate! Our CD loved it, the passengers loved it and we love performing it. Highly recommended!

I love this routine… Its one of those rare “perfect routines” for a pro. It has guaranteed laughs, no odd magic props, no technical concerns, and packs to almost nothing. It is also current (using smartphone that everyone by now is familiar with) which added to all the comedy, it simply makes me likable. That’s the real secret to great magic.
